Our First Meeting
On the 4th week in Second Life, we met up on the Cag University campus where we all got split up into groups. These groups were determined by different coloured flags. One of the supervisors used the chat feature to input the names of the students that belonged in each group. I ended up being a part of the Red Team along with Kevin, Zaaher, Cagla and Pinkliest. We remained at the flags while the lecturers explained to us how our group assignment will be carried out. We are tasked to create a presentation with the context of UN goals, the presentation will be between 5-10 minutes long and will be presented during the last class in a fun and interactive manner. After a brief Q&A we were instructed to move further into the area towards a seating area near a large circular fountain.
There our supervisors gave a presentation on teamwork and what the most efficient team-working strategies are. The importance of good communication was explained and how we should approach communication as a team to achieve the best results.
After the presentation was finished, we split back into our groups and were tasked to create a point of contact for the group. I took the initiative to set up our WhatsApp chat for the group. I gathered everybody’s phone numbers and successfully managed to add each member. As a team we determined the group leader and assistant leader. I took the role of being the leader and Kevin would act as my assistant leader. We also determined that our first meeting will commence next Tuesday evening (25/10) at 6pm where we will meet and discuss our presentation.

How It Went
During our meeting on Tuesday, we gathered on the Cag University campus, in the same area where our last class was held. We discussed the brief in detail and tried to determine how we will approach the assignment. We discussed the importance of the UN goals and what each of them entailed. As we have not received our key topic in the previous class it was quite difficult to use our meeting to divide tasks for each person, so instead we agreed to further study UN goals for our next meeting so we can be prepared when we do receive our final topic.
When we determine, which title is assigned to our group we are planning on creating a shared PowerPoint where we will each give approximately 2-minute presentations, equaling in a 10-minute full presentation.
